Description of the Patient Safety Practice

In our institutions we have organized a team for curing the pressure ulcers. The team is composed of medical professionals (doctors, nurses) who are trained and educated to care for pressure ulcers. Their main tasks are training the staff, identifying high-risk patients and the development of a plan of disposal caused by bedsores. If a patient is admitted with ulcers or same occurs during his stay in our hospital, nurse informs team of pressure ulcers and his physician. The team then determines the method of treating pressure ulcers. In the case of having to perform necretomia we can drive the patient to the surgery in one of our collaborative institutions. If the transport of the patient would be to risky for our patient, then the surgeon will come to our institution to perform a surgery. Nurses follow the condition of pressure ulcers through nursing documentation and if any change happens they will inform the attending physician. When leaving the hospital the team gives their recommendations for further treatment and nurse writes all the important information in the discharge letter
