Method used to measure the results
The project Maternity Hospital Guide reached its third year of great progress and success in 2012 and 2013. It integrated leading experts in perinatology, patient organizations, mothers, and families. There were more than 3.100 evaluations done by women giving birth this year, which represents almost 6% of all deliveries in Slovakia. 14 most important Slovak experts and 1 American expert in perinatology were involved to develop criteria for the expert evaluation.
Results
More than 7.500 mothers filled out the questionnaire and the webpage www.sprievodcaporodnicami.sk had more than 100.000 unique visitors and more than 640.000 page views in 2 years. The results of the project are presented in figures, tables and charts on the website www.sprievodcaporodnicami.sk Specific information of several types and selected relevant data about the quality and safety of obstetric and perinatal care can be compared and evaluated for each year.
Analysis of the results
Rankings of the 10 most successful hospitals are available on the website www.sprievodcaporodnicami.sk. If a maternal hospital is participating in the evaluation by survey repeatedly, it will be possible to follow the trend of improvement in relevant parameters.
