PaSQ online surveys for better patients' care

PROJECT'S STATUS

Mid January 2013, the European Union Network for Patient Safety and Quality of Care, PaSQ has completed its 2nd Coordination Meeting in Berlin (Germany) welcomed by Mr.Günther Jonitz, President of Berlin Chamber of Physicians, Mrs.Annette Widmann-Mauz, Member of Parliament - Parliamentary State Secretary, Federal Ministry of Health, and Mr.Christian Thomeczek, ÄZQ/AQuMed Managing Director.

In line with Project's objective of contributing to Patient Safety and good Quality of Care, the respective PaSQ Work Packages (WPs) have focused their activities on creation, and launch of the online surveys to collect data on best healthcare practices.

WORK PACKAGE 4

Further to the task of WP4: Patient Safety Good Clinical Practices, led by the Danish Society for Patient Safety, any person within the European health care system is invited to report any Patient Safety Practice through the online survey available on the PaSQ website.

It can be a Clinical Practice, Clinical Risk Management Practice, or any Other Patient Safety Practice of which an awareness, expertise or skills have been verified.

WORK PACKAGE 5

As leader of the WP5: Patient Safety Initiatives Implementation, and based on literature review performed in summer/fall 2012, the German Agency for Quality in Medicine has selected the 1st Set of Safe Clinical Practices

The next steps foresee the confirmation of the final Set, definition of tools and Healthcare Organisations for its implementation, targeted for summer 2013.

WORK PACKAGE 6

The aim of the WP6: EU Collaboration for Healthcare Quality Management Systems, led by the Spanish Ministry of Health, Social Services and Equality, is to collect information on the most transferable Good Organisational Practices. The identified ones will be selected - according to explicit criteria - and shared during the Exchange Mechanisms.

NCPs and EU Stakeholders are encouraged to fill the online survey, and provide practices, strategies or programmes at national, regional or affiliates level.

WORK PACKAGE 7

Leading this work, and involving PaSQ NCPs and relevant EU Stakeholders, the Slovak Ministry of Health is looking to develop a sustainable European Network for voluntary collaboration on Patient Safety and Quality of Care.

EXCHANGE MECHANISMS

Please provide to us your valuable input so that together we would support better patient care.

You are kindly invited to contact your PaSQ National Contact Point (NCP) who will organise the process to fill in the respective online survey.

Data collection process for WP4, WP6 and WP7 is open until February 28th 2013.

The PaSQ project in collaboration with PaSQ NCPs will arrange Exchange Mechanisms, meaning face-to-face meetings and learning resources for healthcare workers across Europe to share experience, knowledge and skills of their effective practices.
